Oskaras Koršunovas

Oskaras Koršunovas, born in 1969 in Vilnius is director and artistic director of the OKT/Vilnius City Theatre. He established the OKT together with other artists in 1998. A theatre that would not limit itself to aesthetic quests, but rather search for contacts with the people who had to take a lot on board in this new era. Since 1990 Korsunovas has staged almost thirty performances both in Lithuania and abroad. He takes the chaos, paradox, absurdity and fragmentation of present-day reality and turns it into the main meaning-generating principle. Koršunovas is a winner of the Lithuanian National Art and Culture prize, the Meyerhold prize and the European New Reality prize and has toured many international festivals. His latest work Miranda received three Golden Stage Cross awards in 2012: for Best Director, Best Female Lead and Best Composer.
