Lisa Lie

Lisa Lie is an actress, director, performance artist, playwright, author from Trondheim, Norway. Lie has made great sucess through her own works Pony of No return (PONR) where different artists are engaged under Lie’s artistic direction, according to need and interest, and previously with the performance duo Sons of Liberty (together with Stina Kajaso).
Sons of Liberty made performances with a distinctive theatrical expression of performance and text-based theater. A collection of their stage text’s have also been published. The performance God hates Scandinavia: Sons of Liberty 3 was awarded the Gabler prize for best show 2006 by the Norwegian newspaper Morgenbladet. With Sons of Liberty, Lie toured in Norway, Ireland, Sweden, Macedonia and Poland.
As PONR, Lie made the solo performance Armløs slår tilbake (Armless strikes back) in 2004. Through her novel Armløs slår tilbake she defined a mixed context of performance and text.
The solo performance Woodland Games (Skogsunderholdning- Talk Softly But Carry A Big Stick), from 2007, is still touring.
PONRs latest show was Blue Motell, which got great reviews and was nominated for the national Ibsen award 2014. Lisa Lie was awarded the Hedda prize - the most prestigious theatre award in Norway - for "Special artistic achievement. Blue Motell was also nominated for two other Hedda awards, for «Best stage text» and «Best male supporting actor» (Kenneth Homstad).
Lisa Lie studied acting at the Norwegian Theatre Academy and direction at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. The opera Ad Undas – Solaris korrigert in The Nowegian National Opera was Lie’s diploma work in directing from the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts, the libretto was made by Lie and the composer Øyvind Mæland, using Øyvind Rimbereid’s appraised poem Solaris korrigert.
Lie now holds a position as House playwright at Dramatikkens hus in Oslo, 2014-16.
