LAZYBLOOD Konzert

CONCERT WITH FOLLOWING PARTY

LAZYBLOOD + ERNA ÓMARSDÓTTIR & VALDIMAR JÓHANNSSON / ICELAND

Lazyblood’s sound has been variously described as “Electronic Metal Opera”, uniting, as it does, influences from Heavy Metal, film music, Icelandic folk, electronica and disco Icelandic folk, electronica and disco. The duo deconstructs attitudes and concert-formats of pop, thereby creating moments of raw power and poetic depth.

by Louise Baduel

Lazyblood was founded in 2010 by the choreographer Erna Ómarsdóttir (who has two further productions at Nordwind) and punk musician Valdimar Jóhannsson. Jóhannsson plays on a laptop, a keyboard and other gadgets, and the duo sings in the deep, guttural tones of black metal. This is accompanied by innovative headbanging and the promise of the musicians that every member of the audience will go home “with a smile on their faces and joy in their hearts”.
