“Cosmic Latte“ is a name given by researchers for the average colour of the universe. In Sonya Lindfors’ performance the term stands for defining, reimagining and dreaming blackness and black identity. Afrofuturism provides the framework for the radical dreaming that is COSMIC LATTE. The performance plays with the idea of an utopian future where present, future and past are present in a boundless, mysterious in between space. It is the third part of a trilogy in which young choreographer Sonya Lindfors focuses on blackness on stage.
