Maria Markina

Athi-Patra Ruga

Maria Markina born in Moscow, made her debut during her studies at the theatre academy on the Stanislavsky and the Nemirovich Dancenko Theatre singing Le nozze di Figaro. She was a member of the ensemble at the Novaya Opera in Moscow in the roles of Olga (Eugen Onegin), Lel (snowflake) Dunyasha (The bride of the Zar ), Naina (Ruslan and Ludmila) and the third dame in (The magic flute, R: Achim Freyer). 2006 she received an award from the Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers in Houston. Recently she can be seen performing with the NDR symphony orchestra as well as with the Fallas El sombrero de tres picos under the direction of Laurence Foster  and in Mozart concerts together with the philharmonic orchestras of Reutlingen and Luzern.
