Qudus Onikeku

Qudus Onikeku, who was born and grew up in Nigeria, is currently one of the most important contemporary artists in Africa. Onikeku has shown his work at a number of festivals, including the Festival d’Avignon, Kalamata dance festival, Rome Europa, Dance Umbrella, Essonnes Danse Festival etc. He has been artist in residency with various institutions from University of California Davis to Maison de la danse Lyon, his last creation ‘We Almost Forgot’ was premiered in Berlin. Qudus was selected for the first Nigerian pavilion at the Venice Biennale. Onikeku has shown his work at many different festivals, including the Theatre Festival in Avignon and the Essonnes Danse Festival. He was Artist in Residency for a number of years and was selected for the first Nigerian pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
