What does it mean to be alone? And do we have the courage to encounter ourselves in silence?

In Detached from Others, Norwegian choreographer Jon Skulberg and award-winning dancer Kenzo Kusuda explore the experience of loneliness and our fear of confronting ourselves. Between chosen solitude and involuntary isolation, the work creates an intense reflection on what it means to be alone. Accompanied by an original organ composition by Lil Lacy, Kusuda’s delicate and fluid movement language makes the experience of solitude almost physically tangible.

The organ, an instrument traditionally associated with solitude and inseparable from the space and its reverberation, is expanded through multiple recorded layers, carefully blended in a quadraphonic sound system.
