Anne Tismer, born in Versailles, grew up in France, Spain and the Netherlands and studied acting at the Max-Reinhardt-Seminar in Vienna. For many years she worked with Jürgen Kruse among others. She was selected actress of the year several times and recieved the Prix Spécial de la Critique Théâtre et Danse. She is one of the funding members of Ballhaus Ost and was hired as a performer at Volksbühne Berlin during the directorship of Chris Dercon and continued working there after him. Since 2005 Tismer feels more at home in art installations and dance performances then in theatre.
